Yulex

Natural rubber latex from Parthenium argentatum.

Guayule (why-you-lee) Latin name Parthenium Argentatum: A desert plant native to Southwestern United States and North Central Mexico. Its bark naturally produces high quality, safe latex.

Guayule has a century’s worth of history beginning as an American rubber source to be grown as an alternative to the tropical Brazilian rubber tree. Previous efforts focused on bulk rubber for the tire industry.

Yulex™ is the first commercial enterprise to see the plants full potential and develop as an industrial crop for its valuable latex which is marketed to the medical device industry today.

Agriculture

Guayule shrub is native to Southwestern United States and North Central Mexico.

Seedlings are produced in a greenhouse prior to transplanting into the field.

Commercial Farms – Guayule grows well in arid and semi-arid areas of Southwest United States, North Central Mexico and regions with similar climates. Currently being grown in La Paz, Maricopa, Pima, Pinal and Yuma counties of Arizona and San Joaquin and Imperial counties in California.

It can be harvested by machine unlike Natural Hevea Latex produced from trees.

Yulex™ has developed a selective breeding process for producing superior Guayule plants which matures twice as quickly and produces double the latex yield as compared to Guayule plants from earlier commercial endeavors.
